This series of courses introduces the fundamental principles, tools, and techniques of graphic design. Students will explore the essential elements of visual design and engage with concepts that provide a strong foundation in effective communication, problem-solving, and the creative process. Through a mix of lectures, hands-on projects, and critiques, students will develop a basic understanding of design thinking and apply it in practical contexts. An introduction to the fundamentals of graphic design with a balanced emphasis on practical, technical, aesthetic, and conceptual skill sets. The curriculum emphasizes using design fundamentals along with learning the industry standard software. Students learn the technical and conceptual skills involved in typography, image generation, layout, and color theory, to apply final graphic solutions used in modern communication. Tuition includes all textbooks and two optional portfolio labs. Tuition assistance may fund up to 100 percent of your registration cost for this program.
