Getting your driver’s license is exciting but knowing what to do when something goes wrong is just as important as knowing how to drive! New and teen drivers alike will learn practical skills that every driver should know but may not learn in driver’s education. Students will practice checking tire pressure and vehicle fluids, identifying common dashboard warning lights, safely changing a tire, and jump-starting a vehicle. Learn how to handle common roadside emergencies – including flat tires, dead batteries, overheating, minor accidents, and getting stranded – along with what to keep in an emergency car kit and when it’s safest to call for help. By the end of the class, students will feel more prepared and confident to handle common car troubles and unexpected situations on the road. This class is intended to supplement, not replace, driver’s education.
