Certified Occupational Safety Specialist Certificate
The Virtual COSS® (Certified Occupational Safety Specialist) program delivers the same innovative, rigorous curriculum as the in-person COSS training but in a fully online, real-time format. This week-long course is led by expert COSS Instructors and blends live instruction with digital coursework to create an engaging, interactive learning experience. The course is hosted through the Alliance Safety Council.
Course Format
- Live online sessions via Zoom are held Monday through Friday, each lasting 6 hours.
- Sessions begin at 8:00 a.m. Central Time.
- After the live sessions Monday–Thursday, students complete daily assignments, readings, and compliance activities on their own schedule.
- On Friday, students attend an additional 2-hour Zoom session to complete all final graded components, including:
- Final exam
- Final compliance moment
- Safety presentation
Participants will need:
- A computer with reliable internet (laptops or desktops only)
- Webcam and microphone
- Zoom Video Conferencing
- Adobe Acrobat Reader DC
- Web browser
