This course introduces the Direct Care Worker to services to assist an individual in meeting their basic needs. The topics include: Professionalism, reporting and documentation, legal and regulatory guidelines, person-centered approach, cultural considerations, special populations, safety, infection control, personal hygiene support, functional support, safe patient handling, mobility assistance, vital signs, nutritional support, and elimination support. Prerequisite: Students must have completed the Core class, CHNA-2210 prior to taking this course.
