Using photographs, students will learn to compose a simplified version with NOTAN (a compositional technique), then watercolor. One or more completed projects will be done by the end of class.

Please read:  Please bring the following supplies and materials to the class: 8x10 watercolor block or pad, brushes (detail brush, size 8, size 12), watercolors, blue painter’s tape, paper towels, drawing pencils, sketchbook, cup for water, 11x14 (or approximate) piece of white foam core backing/substitute for backing, landscape photos larger than 4x6 (look in calendars or magazines for help). Optional materials: Colored pencils, micron pens (black ink, very thin line for detail work). All supplies listed other than landscape photos can be found at Dick Blick.
