ID : 104935
« back to classes page
This course will focus on the firing of Kirkwood's large wood-fueled kiln, the Anagama. Beginning June 3rd, students will load the kiln and start an 84-hour kiln firing session. Each student will be expected to sign up for a 6-hour shift between June 5-8 to help maintain the proper conditions. Kiln unloading will take place on Saturday June 15 from 10am-4pm. Students that do not sign up for the making session and only sign up for the firing session can bring work that was made from their own studio. Clays and glazes must be high temperature rated and approval is required from the instructor. Please email questions about this course to zach.wollert@kirkwood.edu.
