In this class, students will learn to recognize the hazards associated withvehicles, such as bumpers, driveshafts, passive restraint detonation systems, and various kinds of fuel systems. Identification of scene safety concerns, engine placement, and recognizing the challenges of compartment forcible entry to affect extinguishment are discussed. The class also covers line selection, operation, and assembly. Methods to gain entry to engine compartments and trunks for more rapid-fire suppression are also presented. This course is a combination of classroom and hands-on exercises.
