This educational presentation provides the dental professional with information on oral lesions. The speaker will cover the ramifications of an undiagnosed oral lesion in a Davenport dental practice. Participants will learn about radiographic analysis, differential diagnosis, virtual surgical planning, surgical photographs, multi-implant restoration of function and insights into pain management. Our target audience is dental assistants, dental hygienists, and dentists. Approved dental continuing education hours will be awarded for 100% attendance.
Objectives: 1) Explain the characteristics of an undiagnosed boney lesion and its differential diagnosis, 2) Describe recommended guidelines for regular radiographic examination and thorough interpretation, 3) Practice interpreting subtle radiographic abnormalities, 4) Discuss virtual surgical planning (VSP) as it relates to lesion resection and reconstruction, and 5) Explain how multiple implants can restore function where a large boney defect exists.
