This class is for those over 18 that were arrested for an OWI. Individuals taking the class are mandated by the court system or are completing in place of jail time.  Class is designed to help each person reduce risk for any type of alcohol or drug problem by helping them understand and accept the need to make necessary changes to reduce the risk for future problems.  The class meets state requirements under sections 321J.2 and 321J.17, Subsection 2, and is open to anyone wishing to better understand their problem. Participants are required to stay overnight, both nights, and will have an individual room. Please arrive by 5:30 pm for check-in. Students will attend class in a collaborative classroom with other registered participants. Certificates of completion will be given at the end of class.

Please read: 
  • Acceptable payment methods for this class are cash or debit/credit card.
  • Students with limited English proficiency must provide their own interpreter. Interpreters will need to make their own arrangements for food and lodging.
  • Late arrivals will be denied entrance. All students must arrive on time.
  • During check-in, students will be subject to a breathalyzer and must not blow over .00.
  • Students should have luggage with them at check-in for a luggage search.
  • The hotel room fee and meals for the weekend (including dinner on Friday) are covered in the tuition cost; however, any additional fees you incur will be your responsibility (example: damage).
  • Cell phones will be allowed but may not be used during class.
  • Students are welcome to bring snacks and drinks that are in their original unopened container. Non-alcoholic beer is not allowed.
  • Any student utilizing a service dog must understand that service dogs are defined as dogs that are required and individually trained to do work or perform tasks to assist a person with a disability, are “under control” (ie: harnessed, leashed, or tethered), and are “house broken.”
  • Class must be attended in its entirety to receive the certificate of completion.
  • The deadline to register for this class is 11:59 p.m. Sunday prior to the class start date.
