The Society of Human Resources (SHRM) has aided the human resource profession for over sixty-five years and has been an excellent resource for many HR professionals seeking to advance their careers. Today employers not only want HR professionals who are knowledgeable of HR concepts, employers want to know if you can effectively apply that knowledge. SHRM has identified this as behavioral competencies. We will define the eight behavioral competencies set by SHRM’s Competency Model, including leadership and navigation, ethical practice, business acumen, relationship management, consultation, critical evaluation, global and cultural effectiveness, and communication. This is the first course in a series of four courses to earn the Strategic Human Resource Management Certificate. Textbook required.
