The Repair of Historic Wooden Windows

ID : 98273
« back to classes page
Historic windows are often the first to fall in modern efforts to increase energy efficiency.  Window systems that have functioned for decades are replaced through expensive and unnecessary work.  Learn how to repair and improve historic windows using low cost techniques and materials.  The class will have both classroom and on-site elements.  You will have the opportunity to work with tools and materials associated with common historic preservation efforts, and exclusively with window restoration tools.  You will leave this class with a stronger understanding of the historic preservation principles that direct preservation efforts.
