In this class, students will learn to recognize the hazards associated with vehicles such as bumpers, drive shafts, passive restraint detonation systems, and various kinds of fuel systems. Identification of scene safety concerns, engine placement, and recognizing the challenges of compartment forcible entry to affect extinguishment are discussed. The class also covers line selection and operation, and assembly. Methods to gain entry to engine copmartments and trunks for more rapid-fire suppression are also presented. This course is a combination of classroom and hands-on exercises.
