How is my class status determined?
The decision to run/cancel classes based on enrollment numbers will be made twice a week.  On Mondays, the decision will be made for Thursday thru Sunday classes.  On Thursdays, we will make a decision for Monday thru Wednesday classes, for the following week.  If the decision to is made to cancel your class, you and your learners will be notified via phone/email. 
 
When will I receive my class packet?
Classes with a start date occurring Thursday – Sunday will have packets mailed out on Mondays, the week of the class.  Classes with a start date occurring Monday – Wednesday will have packets mailed out on Thursdays, the week prior.
 
Books are provided with my class, where do I find the learner copies?
Copies will be found in the following locations:
  • Linn County Regional Center: Test Center
  • Iowa City Learning Center: Staff supply room b, on the Continuing Education bookshelf
  • Kirkwood Continuing Education Training Center: In your classroom
If you have extra books, please leave them in the same location where you picked up your books.

I need special equipment for class, what do I do?
For special equipment, such as computers, projector, VCR, DVD, and flip chart paper, please make arrangements with your Program Developer
 
How do I mark the Sign-In Sheets?
  • Mark an “X” for each learner who is in attendance.
  • Leave the box blank if the learner is absent.
  • DO NOT pass the sign in sheet around the room as it includes personal student information.
  • Include your signature in the designated area before returning, this is required in order to process payroll.
 
When will I be paid?
Kirkwood Continuing Education processes payroll after your class Sign-In Sheet has been received and processed.  All payments will be direct deposited to the bank of your choice.  Payroll may be viewed by logging into EagleNet with your Knumber/password and viewing “Pay Advices.”  For questions about logging in or navigating EagleNet, please review your Learning Facilitator Handbook.
 
How do I access my W2?
Documents may be accessed by logging into EagleNet with your Knumber and password.  If you have questions about how to login, please review your Learning Facilitator Handbook
 
How do I get handouts for my class?
Please provide the handout requests and documents to your Program Developer at least 2 weeks prior to the start of your class. For easier processing, an e-mailed electronic file is preferred.

What do I do with the Evaluation Forms?
To ensure the needs of our students are met, please have each student complete an evaluation form at the end of class.  It is encouraged that the instructor leave the room or busy themselves while students are completing. Evaluation Forms must be collected and returned with your Sign-in Sheet and Enrollment Forms.

Inclement Weather
Kirkwood Community College and off campus locations may close due to weather or other emergency situations. The decision to cancel Continuing Education classes will be made by 6:30 a.m. for daytime classes and by 3:00 p.m. for evening classes. You are expected to share this policy with students on your first night of class

Computer Usage
To log in to your instructor computer, please view the login information, located on the keyboard or monitor.  Student computers do not require a password.  PLEASE NOTE:  All students should save their work to the j:\ student drive or to a personal flash drive, as documents saved to computer desktops may be deleted.  
 
I need to alter my class date and/or time, what do I do?
If you need to cancel your class or change the date/time, please contact your Program Developer.  Kirkwood staff will notify the learners of any changes. If cancelling the same day as the class, outside of business hours (8AM – 5PM), it is your responsibility to notify the learners and your Program Developer.  If needed the class Sign-In Sheet contains learner contact information.
 
My class needs CEU Certificates, how will I receive them?
Classes requiring certificates will be included in your Class Packet.  All learners must attend at least 70% of the class(es) to earn a CEU certificate. 
  • If you do not receive a certificate for a learner, please note this on your Sign-In Sheet so a certificate may be mailed to the student.
  • If a student did not attend, please shred the unused certificate or return with your Sign-In Sheet, Enrollment Forms, and Evaluations.
