There are three required tests that must be taken in the following order: Pre-Trip Test, Skills Test and Road Test. Prior to testing you must hold a Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP) for at least 14 days before you can complete the required Pre-Trip, Skills and Road tests. No refunds will be issued for any failed, untaken test due to failing a test, or for no shows or reschedules with less than 48 business hour notice.  All tests must be taken in required testing order. You will need to provide your own vehicle and proof of insurance. You will need to self-identify as an interstate (driving across state lines) or intrastate (driving only in Iowa) driver. Upon successfully passing all three CDL tests in the series you may obtain your CDL at any driver’s license issuance location.
