This course provides all licensed beauty and barbering professionals with current information on Iowa laws, administrative rules, and sanitation standards. Participants will review state regulations related to infection control, disinfection procedures, scope of practice, and professional compliance requirements and ensures licensees remain informed, compliant, and prepared to practice safely and responsibly within the state of Iowa. Objectives: 1. Identify current Iowa laws and administrative rules governing cosmetology, esthetics, nail technology, and instruction. 2. Demonstrate state-required disinfection, sanitation, and infection control standards in daily professional practice. 3. Demonstrate understanding of compliance responsibilities, scope of practice, and regulatory updates to maintain licensure in good standing.

Kirkwood Community College does not pre-approve content with any licensing board/agency unless specifically listed. Licensees are responsible for retaining documentation of the workshop for 4 years after the offering has concluded. Suggested hours, CEH's: 2.Technology requirements: classes can be taken on computer devices using the most up-to-date version of Safari, Chrome, or Firefox. Tablet devices can also be used with the following stipulations: Apple products must access the class using Safari and android devices must use Google Chrome.
