Over four hundred years ago, the English physician William Harvey discovered the role of the heart and the circulation of the blood. Harvey's revolutionary discoveries overturned centuries of teaching in the medieval universities and the ideas of the ancient Greek Galen. Come bring a friend and learn about Harvey's experiments as reported in his short book, De Motu Cordis. You will learn about Harvey's experiments and discoveries within the broader historical context of ancient and medieval anatomy and physiology.
