Kirkwood’s Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) training program is ideal for students who wish to learn the skills and to be certified at the level or EMR.  Students will learn basic emergency stabilization skills for the sick and injured prior to the arrival of an ambulance or rescue squad. Must be 17 years of age to enroll in the class, be able to speak and write the English language, and be able to physically perform the duties of a First Responder.  Must hold current certification in Healthcare Provider CPR to enroll. Students are responsible for any additional fees for practical and written testing.

Notice

Please read:  This course will be held online and meet for three lab days on April 5th, April 19th, and May 3rd from 8:00am-12:00pm at Kirkwood's Katz Family Healthcare Simulation Center. Tuition covers books which will be mailed out the first week of class. Tuition does not cover IDPH Certification fee or background check fees, which is $80.00. Tuition also does not cover psychomotor or written exam fees for NREMT. Your log in information to be sent to you via email one day prior to the class start date. Email subject line: Emergency Medical Responder class log in information. Technology requirements: classes can be taken on computer devices using the most up-to-date version of Safari, Chrome, or Firefox. Tablet devices can also be used with the following stipulations: Apple products must access the class using Safari and android devices must use Google Chrome.
