This comprehensive hands-on workshop provides massage therapists with advanced, specialized techniques for side-lying prenatal massage. Designed to enhance practitioners' skills in supporting pregnant clients, this course focuses on approaches to reducing pregnancy-related discomfort and managing maternal stress, while reviewing the history and beneficial uses of prenatal massage.

Educational Objectives:

1. Identify the anatomical and biomechanical considerations specific to clients in a side-lying position, including proper draping techniques and positioning for safety and comfort.
2. Demonstrate the ability to position and bolster clients effectively to ensure proper alignment, reduce strain, and enhance client relaxation.
3. Identify and apply techniques to address common conditions that benefit from side-lying massage, such as prenatal discomfort, post-surgical recovery, and shoulder/hip issues.
4. Practice advanced massage modalities, including myofascial release, neuromuscular therapy, and passive stretching, adapted for the side-lying position.
5. Develop ergonomic strategies for the therapist to maintain body mechanics and prevent fatigue while working in the side-lying position.
6. Design personalized treatment plans for side-lying massage, incorporating client-specific goals, contraindications, and preferences.

Class Requirements: High-speed internet, Computer with both a Webcam and Microphone (built-in or external), and the Zoom application. Participants should have a notebook and writing instrument for taking notes, and a set of sheets, and a model readily available. Please note: Late arrivals will be allowed to attend the workshop, but they will NOT be eligible to earn continuing education credit. Participants must be logged in individually.
