Sports Massage

This comprehensive sports massage course is designed for healthcare professionals and massage therapists looking to enhance their ability to support athletic performance, injury prevention, and recovery. Whether attending in person or virtually via Zoom, participants will gain practical, evidence-based techniques to work effectively with athletes at all levels, from recreational to elite competitors.

Educational Objectives:
1.Describe the role of sports massage within athletic performance, injury prevention, and rehabilitation. 
2. Identify the differences between sports massage, deep tissue, and other therapeutic modalities while modifying techniques based on the sport, athlete's needs, and timing of the massage in relation to training or competition.

3. Assess Common Athletic Injuries and Imbalances while performing functional assessments to guide massage treatment strategies.
4. Apply Targeted Techniques to Improve Performance and Prevent Injury and utilize techniques such as compression, friction, trigger point work, facilitated stretching, and muscle stripping.

5. Practice Ethical and Professional Standards in a Sports Setting describing the importance of confidentiality, informed consent, and documentation.
