This course is designed for individuals seeking the Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification with code endorsement to American Welding Society's (AWS) D1.1 Code. The course covers Part C (Code Applications) of the CWI exam. This is a guided study and prep to equip students with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to prepare for taking a CWI seminar and exam. Through problem-solving exercises, and group discussions, participants will learn how to apply code requirements, assess weld quality, and ensure code compliance for a variety of welding scenarios as is relates to the role of a CWI. This course is ideal for welding professionals seeking CWI credentialing, or anyone seeking a deeper understanding of welding standards in structural steel fabrication. No prior certification is required, please review the requirements needed to be qualified to become a CWI. These requirements are outlined in clause 6 of AWS B5.1:2025.
