Come and join us at Kirkwood Community College and learn the ancient art of glass mosaics! Under the guidance from one of our local artists, you will plan, cut, and assemble your own glass sun catcher. The workshop will include an introduction to the art form, discussion of the project, colors available, and of course making your own timeless piece of art. Tack fusing means the glass pieces are fused just enough to bond together while still retaining their individual shapes and raised texture. The result is a more dimensional, layered look with added depth and visual interest. When you have finished your work, the glass will be fired over the next week in one of our glass fusing kilns and will be ready to be picked up the following week during a scheduled time. Pick-up times and where to find your completed piece will be communicated to you by your instructor.
