This two-hour course covers the significant changes in the latest edition of the NEC that pertain to residential wiring. This includes: new rules for calculating branch circuits, new GFCI and AFCI requirements; new rules for receptacle locations and lighting control; service and emergency disconnect marking; grounding and bonding; general and specific requirements for wiring methods and materials; new rules for switches, wiring devices, appliances and AC equipment. In addition, if time allows, certain changes in Chapters 5, 6, and 7 that could affect some dwelling installations will be covered. This course has been approved by the Iowa Electrical Examining Board for two hours of code.
