All applicants must turn 18 years of age within 6 months of course registration and have evidence of high school diploma or equivalent within 1 year of course registration. All classes will be live on-line with online coursework and one in-person lab day on main campus, Cedar Rapids. Technology requirements: classes can be taken on computer devices using the most up-to-date version of Safari, Chrome, or Firefox. Tablet devices can also be used with the following stipulations: Apple products must access the class using Safari and android devices must use Google Chrome. Must have a webcam and microphone on electronic device. Course textbook and exam voucher for the certification exam are included in the course fee. Optional Volunteer Externship Opportunity: Learners who complete this program are eligible to participate in an optional volunteer externship opportunity with a local company/agency/organization whose work aligns with this area of study in order to gain valuable hands-on experience. As learners progress through their program, an Externship Coordinator will reach out to coordinate placement. Please Note: Additional documentation and fee's including health records, immunizations, drug-screening, criminal background checks, etc. may be required by the externship facility.
