AI is creating exciting opportunities, but it is also making scams, misinformation, and online deception harder to detect. This timely workshop helps participants understand how AI can be used to create fake images, fake videos, fake voices, phishing emails, misleading messages, and fraudulent content. Participants will learn how to recognize warning signs of AI-generated scams, verify suspicious information, protect personal data, and respond safely when something feels off. The workshop will include examples of common scams, including fake family emergency calls, fake job offers, fake invoices, romance scams, social media misinformation, and phishing messages. This session is especially valuable for families, older adults, caregivers, community members, and anyone who wants to feel safer online. Participants will leave with a practical checklist for evaluating suspicious content, protecting themselves, and helping others avoid AI-enabled fraud.
