This course introduces the Direct Care Worker to services that support and maintain an individual’s health and provide functional support for certain conditions. The topics include: aging process, support for the person with: sensory, musculoskeletal, gastrointestinal, cardiovascular respiratory, skin, urinary, and reproductive conditions. As well as, diabetes mellitus, neurologic and nervous disorders, mental illness and substance abuse disorders, pain, cancer, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and end of life.
