Continue where the Introduction to Photography class left off. Go beyond the fundamentals of the basic operation of your digital camera. Learn in-depth the operation of your camera’s light meter, how and why to override it for better exposures. Master auto-focus and manual exposures techniques for total creative control of your camera’s operation. Color theory, black & white, and composition will be discussed to increase the student’s effective use of color and B&W as compositional tools. Finally, discover how to use the power of wide angle lenses to create images with dynamic perspectives and increased depth-of-field. Weekly in-class exercises will enable the student to practice and master the techniques with their camera under the instructor’s guidance. Prerequisite-“introduction to photography” or equivalent. Digital camera capable of Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority, and full manual exposure modes.
