This drawing course introduces the basic elements and principles of design. The course will focus on developing one’s observational skills and drawing techniques. A variety of basic drawing media will be explored, including graphite, pen/ink, charcoal, and pastels.

Please read:  Aside from a few listed brands for certain materials, I have no brand preference. However, I will recommend starting out with student-grade supplies as they will be more affordable, though you can certainly experiment with artist-grade supplies if you should choose. • 11x17 or 18x24 Newsprint Pad • 11x17 or 18x24 Drawing Pad • Assorted Drawing Pencils (preferably four or more of a combination of 6H 4H, 2H, HB, 2B, 4B, 6B pencils - 6H being the lightest, and 6B being the darkest) • Pink Pearl Eraser or Staedtler Mars Plastic Eraser • General's Black and/or White Charcoal Pencils • Ball-Point Pen • Felt-Tip Pen • India Ink • Bamboo Brush or Watercolour Paintbrush • (Optional) Kneadable Eraser • (Optional) Paper Blending Stumps, Chamois Cloth, fluffy paint brushes, or paper towels as alternative blending materials
