KICK Camp: Science in the Sink

ID : 104920
« back to classes page
This camp will expose students to a few basic "big ideas" in both life science and the physical sciences.  Students will be engaged in hands-on laboratory activities dealing with familiar topics (sinking, floating, color changes, batteries, electronics, rocks, dinosaurs, color imaging) with common objects from around the home. We will expand upon what they already know by providing qualitative and quantitative scientific methods to make observations, collect and analyze data in order to better understand the basic science behind what they experience in their everyday lives.  There will also be discussions about occupations and careers that utilize the science we will encounter in each of the lessons.
