Teaches proper weld safety, machine setup and welding techniques for gas metal arc welding using short arc, spray metal transfer methods. Students perform American Welding Society compliant welds on mild steels in the flat and horizontal positions.

Please read:  Bring a welding helmet and gloves, safety glasses, steel-toe boots/shoes, a long-sleeve shirt, ear plugs, a chipping hammer, a wire brush and pliers/vice grips on the first day. Required books GMAW Tech Guide EW-473 Hobart ISBN 9781936058174, GMAWB EW-369 Hobart ISBN 9781936058068. Due to winter snow days class dates are being pushed back. The original class was scheduled 5/6/19 - 7/17/19 the class will now meet 5/28/19 - 8/5/19.
