This two-day course meets the requirements for the Technical Level. This course has two days of field operations. Students are trained in preplanning and size-up of rope rescue operations, knots, hitches, and anchor systems; belay operations; ascending and descending, raising and lowering systems; and patient packaging and litter attending. In addition, this course will also cover advanced problem solving. Advanced skills in team management, rope rescue physics, load factors, critical angles, constructing multipoint anchor systems, negotiating obstacles, offsets, constructing artificial high-directional anchors, constructing highline rope systems, and attendant litter systems will be explored and intensely practiced. Safety of the rescuer, rescue team, patient, and bystanders will be stressed at all times.
