« back to classes page
This certificate is designed for individuals solely responsible for the marketing of a small business or nonprofit. You may already have a social media presence, such as on Facebook, but are wanting to build upon what you’re already doing. You may also want to explore other platforms, such as Instagram to share your message or create a following, but aren’t sure where or how to start. This certificate is designed to help you take your business or nonprofit to the next level through proper use of digital platforms. The backbone of this series starts with identifying why your business or nonprofit exists. You will learn about creating a "why" statement, which will make the utility of different platforms easier to understand. The series will also cover the types of content that make sense on various social media sites, and the importance of differentiating among them. Homework assignments for each course will allow you to navigate different platforms and gain a better comfort level when using them for your business or nonprofit. Classes include: Business Blogging and SEO, Introduction to Instagram, Enhancing Your Facebook Business Page, Introduction to Audio and Video Tools, Twitter for Business and Enhancing LinkedIn Pages. The series will conclude with a review session devoted to lab time and questions before the Social Media Certificate Final Project class presentations.
