Using Art to Encourage Early Literacy Skills

ID : 109984
« back to classes page
Signing their names to artwork is only one of the ways young children blend art and literacy. In this workshop, we’ll look at other ways to nudge kids toward early literacy skills, such as captioning their work, dictating how their artwork came to be, and using creative art to start a story. Come ready to create (don’t worry, stick figures totally count!) and discuss. Meets CDA Competency II: Steps to Advance Children’s Physical and Intellectual Development.
