Please read:  Please bring four rolls of 1 & 1/2 inch athletic tape (Johnson and Johnson or Mueller) and two rolls of pre-wrap to class. This class will qualify for those working for their coaching authorization from the State of Iowa, but will not qualify for college credit for those students seeking a coaching endorsement. The state will require an application fee ($85) and background check fee ($75) to be included with the submission of state forms. These fees may be paid for online with a Credit Card ($3 service fee). Applicants that are under 20 years old will need to upload a copy of their high school diploma as a required transcript into the online application for coaching authorization. The BOEE requires all applications to provide documentation of current completion of a hands-on (not online) CPR training. Kirkwood Continuing Education offers HeartSaver CPR/AED (CHCP-1800), BLS Provider (CHCP-1000), or Adult First Aid (CHCP-1200) to meet this requirement. Any official CPR training through the following reputable organizations will also be accepted: American Heart Association, American Red Cross, American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI), National Safety Council (NSC), or Medic First Aid. After successful completion of the seminar, Kirkwood will email you your transcript to upload with your online application with the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners. It will take 4-6 weeks after successful completion of the seminar and all online application components to receive authorization from the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners.
