Continue where the Introduction to Photography class left off. Go beyond the fundamentals of the basic operation of your digital camera. Learn in-depth the operation of your camera’s light meter, how and why to override it for better exposures. Master auto-focus and manual exposures techniques for total creative control of your camera’s operation. Color theory, black and white, and composition will be discussed to increase the student’s effective use of color and B and W as compositional tools. Finally, discover how to use the power of wide angle lenses to create images with dynamic perspectives and increased depth-of-field. Weekly in-class exercises will enable the student to practice and master the techniques with their camera under the instructor’s guidance. Prerequisite: “introduction to photography” or equivalent. Digital camera capable of Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority, and full manual exposure modes.
