The Nurse Aide Training program
is designed to meet the training requirements for the nurse aide in long-term care facilities. Emphasis is placed on achieving a basic level of knowledge of the resident, and demonstrating skills to provide safe and effective resident care. Students will do a minimum of 30 hours of on line work and will be required to log into the course 5 of 7 days each week as well as meet at an assigned lab location for 25 hours. Once students have completed the online and lab portion of the program, they will be required to meet at an assigned clinical location to complete the 15 hours of clinical rotation portion of this training. All 15 hours of clinic must be attended to earn a passing grade. Required textbook: Hartman's Nursing Assistant Care, 3rd or 4th edition, Hedman.
