Learn how to use carpentry tools to measure, cut, smooth, shape, fasten, pry, and clamp. Learn how to identify, select, maintain, sharpen, and store both hand and power tools. Most importantly, learn to use these tools safely, and in an inviting environment for both men and women. No matter what project you plan on tackling, this class will offer a great start to figuring out the right tools. Time will be set aside for each student to become comfortable using the primary tools involved in most carpentry and woodworking projects. From hand planes and chisels, to portable table saws and compressors, you will be introduced to a wide range of hand and power tools. No matter what your level of experience, you will come away with a better knowledge of tools and their use.
