This classroom, video-based, instructor-led course uses a series of simulated pediatric emergencies to reinforce the important concepts of a systematic approach to pediatric assessment, basic life support, PALS treatment algorithms, effective resuscitation and team dynamics. The goal of the Pediatric Advanced Life Support Course is to improve the quality of care provided to seriously ill or injured children, resulting in improved outcomes.

Please read:  Students must have a current course completion card in PALS. Students must go to https://elearning.heart.org/course/427and login or create an account to complete the PALS Precourse Self-Assessment prior to the class. Students must print the self-assessment results and bring the results with them to the class meeting. There is no additional cost associated with the online self-assessment. The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in BLS, ACLS, and PALS and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the American Heart Association.
