Food for the Food: Introduction to Composting

ID : 94317
« back to classes page
Plants need to eat before people and animals can eat food. This workshop is a fun, interactive introduction to composting and soil science principles. Roots need to absorb available nutrients from the decomposition process of organic matter, and we build organic matter when we make compost. More than half of the resources we discard in landfills are the food and paper waste ingredients (green and brown) for potential plant food. We'll learn about affordable methods and designs easily used at home, school, or work. Worms not included.
