Let's Knit a Mosaic Shawl - Designer's Choice

ID : 94653
« back to classes page
There are many ways to add color to your knitting from the yarns we choose to the stripes we add. Many knitters shy away from color because they don’t feel confident or they think that their choices are “just wrong”! Mosaic knitting is where only one yarn is worked per row while you do have another yarn going; the other yarn is slipped while you knit this row. The effects are gorgeous. The knitting is relaxing. The boomerang shape of the shawl is easy to wear! This class is a Designer’s Choice course. Choose a mosaic knit from the patterns by Susan Ashcroft, Ravelry Name, Stitchnerd at You need to be able to follow a chart, so eager beginners and intermediate knitters can knit these designs successfully.

Please read:  Print your pattern and bring to class: your pattern, yarn, and supplies as indicated in the pattern. The shawl pattern can be adjusted to any weight yarn from fingering to aran. I suggest DK or sport weight yarn for this class. You will need two colors. You can use opposite colors (like black or white) or a self-striping/long-striping colorway and a contrasting color. Variegated yarns are the only yarns that do not work.
