This training for those interested in obtaining employment and being successful in a professional work environment. Students will learn core knowledge and competencies related to customer service such as professionalism, diversity, generational differences, time management, dealing with challenges and change in the workplace and team building and trust. Students will also learn how to use Real Colors to improve communication, enhance their business and professional writing skills, explore post-secondary educational options, and discover financial literacy through budgeting. Employment skills will also be addressed through writing a resume and cover letter, learning how to search jobs and practicing interviewing skills. Time will also be spent prepping for and taking the National Career Readiness Certification test. Focused study and practice on soft skills such as listening, speaking, questioning and working together will be emphasized in both face-to-face and written formats. Books will be provided. Classes include: Customer Service Soft Skills, Real Colors, Business and Professional Writing Skills, Employment Skills, Keytrain Prep for NCRC, Post-Secondary Education Options, Financial Literacy and National Career Readiness Certification Testing.
