Description: Gain the knowledge and skills necessary for employment as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital pharmacy under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. Our noncredit Pharmacy Technician Certificate prepares students for the Pharmacy Technician Certification exam needed to work as a Pharmacy Tech in Iowa. You will learn a basic understanding of medications, prescriptions, and terminology, as well as record keeping, ethics, jurisprudence, and the role of the pharmacy technician. Description: Kirkwood Community College offers DOT certified third party testing for individuals seeking to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL B). There are three required tests that must be taken in the following order: Pre-Trip Test, Skills Test and Road Test. Prior to testing you must hold a Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP) for at least 14 days before you can complete the required Pre-Trip, Skills and Road tests. If you fail any test you will need to re-register and pay for the failed test as well as any of the tests you have not yet taken.
