Series : Residential Carpentry Skills Series

Description: This series of courses will provide students with entry level skills needed in residential construction. Students will gain an understanding of the skills, knowledge and abilities required to be a successful crafts person.  Students will be provided with a basic background to the construction industry and proper safety techniques. Classes include; Plans, Specifications and Building Codes; Carpentry Hand Tools and Power Tools; Floors, Walls and Ceiling Framing; Exterior Building Close-in; Interior Finishes I; and Interior Finishes II.

Certificate Program : Pharmacy Technician Certificate Program (Hybrid)

Tuition: $1,196.00   

Description: Gain the knowledge and skills necessary for employment as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital pharmacy under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. Our noncredit Pharmacy Technician Certificate prepares students for the Pharmacy Technician Certification exam needed to work as a Pharmacy Tech in Iowa. You will learn a basic understanding of medications, prescriptions, and terminology, as well as record keeping, ethics, jurisprudence, and the role of the pharmacy technician. This course is hybrid, requiring you to be on campus one morning a week and the ability to complete remaining course work online on your own time within the weekly deadlines. One textbook package purchase is required at the start of the course and will be utilized in all classes throughout the certificate program. To successfully complete this course, students must pass all required components as this class qualifies as a pathway into a Kirkwood credit program. Series : Elementary Spanish Series

Tuition: $295.00   

Description: This 16-week beginner level Spanish language series places emphasis on basic listening, speaking, writing, and reading skills in the present tense, the past tense, and the future tense.  This series is ideal for students with no previous Spanish language learning experience, or for those who have previous experience but are not comfortable communicating in Spanish.  Also, this course covers nouns, adjectives, adverbs, direct, and indirect pronouns.  This series is required before students can take higher level Spanish classes, such as Spanish for Travelers and Spanish for Professionals. Classes include Elementary Spanish I and Elementary Spanish II.
