Description: Kirkwood Community College offers DOT certified third party testing for individuals seeking to obtain a School Bus Commercial Driver’s License. There are three required tests that must be taken in the following order: Pre-Trip Test, Skills Test and Road Test. Prior to testing you must hold a Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP) for at least 14 days before you can complete the required Pre-Trip, Skills and Road tests. If you fail any test you will need to re-register and pay for the failed test as well as any of the tests you have not yet taken. For example, if you pass the Pre-Trip Test, but fail the Skills Test, you will need to start back at the Skills Test but will not need to retake the Pre-Trip Test. No refunds will be issued for any failed or untaken test due to failing a test. All tests must be taken in required testing order. You will need to provide your own vehicle and proof of insurance. You will need to self-identify as an interstate (driving across state lines) or intrastate (driving only in Iowa) driver. Series : Clsas B CDL Testing: Pre-Trip, Skills and Road Series

Tuition: $345.00   

Description: Kirkwood Community College offers DOT certified third party testing for individuals seeking to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL B). There are three required tests that must be taken in the following order: Pre-Trip Test, Skills Test and Road Test. Prior to testing you must hold a Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP) for at least 14 days before you can complete the required Pre-Trip, Skills and Road tests. If you fail any test you will need to re-register and pay for the failed test as well as any of the tests you have not yet taken. For example, if you pass the Pre-Trip Test, but fail the Skills Test, you will need to start back at the Skills Test but will not need to retake the Pre-Trip Test. No refunds will be issued for any failed, untaken test due to failing a test, or for no shows or reschedules with less than 48 business hour notice.  All tests must be taken in required testing order. You will need to provide your own vehicle and proof of insurance. You will need to self-identify as an interstate (driving across state lines) or intrastate (driving only in Iowa) driver. Description: This series of courses will provide students with entry level skills needed in residential construction. Students will gain an understanding of the skills, knowledge and abilities required to be a successful crafts person.  Students will be provided with a basic background to the construction industry and proper safety techniques. Classes include; Plans, Specifications and Building Codes; Carpentry Hand Tools and Power Tools; Floors, Walls and Ceiling Framing; Exterior Building Close-in; Interior Finishes I; and Interior Finishes II.
